The James S. Kemper
Foundation
Official site: http://www.jskemper.org/
Established
in 1948, the Kemper Scholar Program provides $3,000-$8,000 per year to
each recipient for three years, plus $2,000-$6,000 per student for summer
internships in the sophomore and junior summers, plus full support for
attendance at annual conferences. It also will provide creative opportunities
for the development of student leadership by pairing students with executive
mentors in non-profit administration, and by sponsoring a network with
other Kemper Scholars and program alumni who have achieved notable success
in business, politics, and the arts. Fifteen schools are allowed to nominate
up to three freshmen for the program each year. Applicants must have strong
academic records, an ongoing record of service and leadership, and an
interest in a career in business or administration (this may include non-profits
or arts organizations). The campus deadline for applications is in mid-January.
