Students entering grades 1-8 with an interest in learning more about science, the arts, world cultures and creative writing.
Three week-long sessions of custom-prepared activities for each age group. Themes of Wind, Fire and Water allow for integrated curriculum. For example, in the Wind week, students will study the physics of flight, observe birds and make rockets as well as examining South American native cultures where flutes and feathers are prominent in music and art. Hands-on, lab based activities take full advantage of the wonderful facilities at Willamette. Passionate Willamette University MAT graduates teach small groups--usually no more than 10 students to each teacher.
In the Collins and Olin Science Centers on the Willamette University campus in Salem.
Three one-week sessions are held during the month of July. Each session is five days — Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Registration fees include one t-shirt per child.
