Christmas in Hudson Hall

Dec. 8 and 9, 2016

7:30 p.m. | Mary Stuart Rogers Center

The Willamette University Music Department is exploring the historic roots of the Christmas season through a holiday concert on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 8 and 9.

The noncommercial presentation takes place in the ornately decorated Hudson Hall within the Rogers Music Center. It begins at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6:45 p.m.

The performance has its Willamette roots in the Lessons and Carols service created in Oxford, England. Willamette adds to the flavor by having rhetoric Professor Jeanne Clark give seasonal readings to connect the carols sung by the audience and the special feature selections performed by Male Ensemble Willamette, Voce Femminile and the Willamette Chamber Choir.  The performance is an invitation to slow down the crush of the commercial Christmas season and focus on the spirit of the season.

This Salem Holiday Tradition is a SOLD OUT event, so be sure to get your tickets early!
