Our part-time MBA scholarships

Graduate school should be accessible. That's why Willamette University offers scholarship opportunities for our MBA for Professionals program. We automatically consider all admitted students for scholarship awards; no separate scholarship application is necessary.   • Early-Action Scholarship

    The Early-Action Scholarship provides a $10,000 scholarship for each MBA-P applicant who applies and is admitted by the early application deadline. Be sure to plan ahead and apply early to take advantage of this scholarship opportunity. In addition, you will receive consideration for other merit-based scholarship awards.

    We want to reward those who are interested in joining the Willamette University community. Simply complete your application early to qualify for this scholarship!

  • Dean's Achievement Scholarship
    The Dean's Achievement Scholarship is for admitted applicants who demonstrate excellent academic credentials. This scholarship is available for six consecutive semesters, starting from the first semester.

    To qualify, students must earn a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.5. They also must have a minimum GMAT score of 580 or GRE score at the 50th percentile. We base the GRE score percentile on the average of the verbal and quantitative scores.
  • Dean's Opportunity Award
    The Dean's Opportunity Award is given to qualified admitted applicants based on the overall strength of their application. Factors could include work experience, the personal statement, GPA, and the admissions interview.

    Willamette is eager to recognize and award applicants who stand out during the admissions process.
  • Leadership Award
    The Leadership Award is provided to qualified applicants who have a strong leadership background. Leadership can be demonstrated through civic, community, professional, or non-academic involvement. Include your leadership experience on your resume and personal statement, and highlight it in your interview to be considered for this award.
  • Entrepreneurship Award
    The Entrepreneurship Award is given to qualified applicants who are passionate about starting new ventures or leading small businesses. Show your experience and interest in starting and /or leading organizations on your resume and personal statement, and highlight it in your interview to be considered for this award.
  • Alumni Discount
    The Alumni Discount is available to admitted applicants who earned a graduate or undergraduate degree from Willamette University. This tuition discount is available throughout the program.

    Eligible alumni who apply and provide Willamette transcripts as part of the admission process will automatically receive the discount.
  • George and Colleen Hoyt Not-for-Profit Scholarship
    The George and Colleen Hoyt Not-for-Profit Scholarship is for students committed to managing not-for-profit organizations. The Hoyt scholarship is awarded to qualified students enrolled in the MBA-P program who have non-profit experience. Students will also need to exhibit a commitment to serving not-for-profit organizations.

    The Hoyt scholarship requires a separate application. Applications are available in August and awarded for the September term. We encourage currently enrolled, admitted, and prospective students to apply.
  • Preferred Partnership program
    Willamette also offers a Preferred Partnership program with some of the biggest companies in Oregon. This provides qualified applicants with a tuition discount of $20,000. We amortize this amount over six consecutive semesters.

  • Other financial awards and details

    Willamette employees are not eligible for participation in the Dean's Achievement Scholarship program. Additionally, MBA-P students who participate in tuition discount programs or receive other WU scholarship funds may face limitations on the number of scholarships or discounts they are eligible to accrue. This includes those provided in partnership with the Yellow Ribbon scholarship program for veterans.

Additional financing information

Students can apply for additional financial aid. Willamette offers a step-by-step guide on how to apply for student loans.

It's important to note that tuition includes catered dinners served during courses, textbooks, case studies, and all required course materials. Students who graduate from the MBA-P program also have access to MBA for Life, a program that provides free business courses to graduates.

MBA for Professional students will not experience an increase in their tuition for six consecutive semesters. There are no additional students or university fees.
