The information on this page is a guide to help BA/MBA students, with one CAS requirement remaining, plan their MBA curriculum.

Option 1 -- BA/MBA student takes CAS course fall semester of the first year of the MBA

BA/MBA students, who take their CAS course fall semester of the first year of the MBA, will generally postpone GSM 5104: Managing Individuals, Teams and Organizations to the fall semester of the second year of MBA study.

1st Year - Fall Semester: 12 MBA credits plus 1 CAS course

  • GSM 5103: Data Analysis, Modeling & Decision Making
  • GSM 5105: Accounting for Managers
  • GSM 5108: PACE I: Practical Application for Careers and Enterprises
  • GSM 5111: Finance and Economics I
  • CAS Course

1st Year - Spring Semester: 17 MBA credits

  • GSM 5107: Marketing: Creating Satisfied Consumers
  • GSM 5109: PACE II: Practical Application for Careers and Enterprises
  • GSM 5112: Finance and Economics II
  • GSM 5114: Operations and Systems Management
  • GSM 6___: MBA Elective

Summer Between 1st and 2nd Year: 3 MBA credits

  • GSM 7251: Internships for Management (Required for BA/MBA students)

2nd Year - Fall Semester: 18 MBA credits

  • GSM 5104: Managing Individuals, Teams and Organizations
  • GSM 6121: Politics and Public Policy for Managers
  • GSM 6___: MBA Elective
  • GSM 6___: MBA Elective
  • GSM 6___: MBA Elective

2nd Year - Spring Semester: 12 - 15 MBA credits

  • GSM 6123: Strategic Management
  • GSM 6___: MBA Elective

Four credits from an MBA Experiential Elective is required.


Option 2 -- BA/MBA student takes CAS course during spring semester of the first year of the MBA

BA/MBA students, who take their CAS course spring semester of the the first year of the MBA, will postpone an MBA elective course until the second year of MBA study.

1st Year - Fall Semester: 15 MBA credits

  • GSM 5103: Data Analysis, Modeling & Decision Making

  • GSM 5108: PACE I: Practical Application for Careers and Enterprises
