Willamette Career Network Helps Alumni with Job Search

More college graduates are asking their alma maters for help as they seek new jobs during tough economic times, and that includes Willamette alumnus Kipp Cosgriffe '91, MBA'93.

A recent story on Portland's KATU News featured Cosgriffe, who lost his job five months ago. He contacted Stacey Lane, associate director of alumni and career networking, who helped him connect with the Willamette alumni network and update his resume. Cosgriffe was a "quick study," according to the story - he starts a new job this week.

Cosgriffe learned that networking has taken on greater importance since he graduated, and that talking with other alumni is beneficial. "They might not necessarily have a job for you, but they will sit down, give you some ideas and help you along the path," he said in the story.

Willamette's career services for students and alumni are free. The Career Network offers connections with alumni, webinars, networking events, workshops and assistance from Lane, a career coach. For more about the network, visit or contact Lane at (503) 370-6748 or
