Faculty present spring concert April 2

by University Communications,

Willamette University’s faculty trio is presenting a program of Ludwig van Beethoven, Ernest Bloch and Maurice Ravel at 7:30 p.m. April 2 in Hudson Hall.

The program features Anita King on piano, Jason Duckles on cello and Daniel Rouslin on violin.

Anita King is the chair of the Willamette Music Department and has performed as a soloist with many groups, including the Oberlin Conservatory Orchestra and the Salem Chamber Orchestra.

From 1973 to 1986, Rouslin served as the first violinist for the Award Winning Delos String Quartet with which he toured three continents and made a recording with Spectrum Records.

Duckles has performed with the Chamber Ensemble and the Amelia Piano Trio, in addition to performing in venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Ravinia in Chicago, and the Library of Congress in Washington DC.

During Tuesday’s concert, the three music professors will play Trio in E-flat Major, Opus 1, No. 1 — one of Beethoven’s earliest published works, “Three Nocturnes for Trio” by Swiss-American composer Bloch and Trio in A Minor by Ravel.

The suggested donation is $8 for adults and $5 for students at the door. Tickets are free to Willamette faculty, staff and students with I.D.
