The Willamette MBA new venture team, Zoned, scored a top three placement during the California Dreamin' Investor and Fast Pitch Business Plan Competition at Chapman University in Orange County, CA. The team, including first year students Philip Catudal and Shpatar Morina, edged out 25 other schools. They were awarded a total of $30,000, including a $15,000 prize and a $15,000 equity investment.
Zoned is an energy supplement for enhanced memory, focus and energy. According to the product website, "ZONED is the love-child of a fitness/chemistry enthusiast, MBA student with a passion for helping others. Established in August, 2012, ZONED’s flagship product ZONED – A True Nootropic Stack – is the culmination of years of scientific research and self-experimentation."
The students were accompanied to the event by Wade Brooks, Contributing Assistant Professor and Executive Director of the Willamette MBA Angel Fund.
