Michael Hollern, Chairman of the Board of Bend-based Brooks Resources Corporation, was honored with the 2014 Glenn L. Jackson Leadership Award as part of Willamette University’s Commencement weekend. First presented in 1984, the award recognizes extraordinary entrepreneurial and civic leadership benefitting the State of Oregon. It is presented annually as part of Willamette’s Atkinson Graduate School of Management ceremony, celebrating students who earn an MBA in business, government and not-for-profit management.
Gerald “Gerry” Frank, the first recipient of the award, presented it to Hollern. Frank noted that Hollern acts “in the spirit of Glenn L. Jackson, and represents the progress and possibilities alive in Oregon.” He encouraged the students to follow Hollern’s lead in making a difference as business leaders and community servants.
Willamette University graduated 105 MBA students during the ceremony, representing 17 different countries and pursuing career interests in 10 different areas of management. The program is one of only two dually accredited by AACSB International (for business) and NASPAA (the global standard for public service education).
