Welcome Willamette’s summer visitors

A number of visitors will be on campus for summer conferences, camps and events. Please extend these guests a warm Willamette University welcome. For many, it will be their first experience of our community.

Events beginning in May and June

May 18–21: Red Cross volunteers and employees will be on campus for the Cascades Disaster Academy.

May 26–28: The Hugh O’Brian Youth Oregon Leadership Seminar, a camp that empowers 10th graders to become better leaders in their communities, will be in residence.

June 4–7: The Northwest 5 Consortium — Willamette University, Whitman College, University of Puget Sound, Reed College and Lewis and Clark College — will bring about 50 adults to campus for the Faculty of Color Workshop.

June 9–11: The Asian Studies on the Pacific Coast (ASPAC) conference is for faculty, teachers and students with an interest in Asian studies.

June 10–17: The American Legion Auxiliary Girls State, a program that develops leadership skills and educates girls about American government, will bring approximately 150 girls to campus.

June 25–July 7 and July 8–21: Young Musicians and Artists (YMA), a performing arts camp that has been partnering with Willamette University since 1974, will conduct two sessions of roughly 125 students each (grades 4–12).

June 18–July 2 and July 3–17: The Meisner Certificate Training Program for actors and acting teachers has two sessions.

June 18–24: The American Legion is hosting the Oregon Boys State Leadership Academy to enhance boys’ leadership skills and civics knowledge.

June 22–July 2 and July 7–16: Willamette Academy has two sessions.

June 25–July 28: MathILy-Er, a camp for mathematically talented high school students, will be on campus .
