This AmeriCorps service program is focused specifically on fighting poverty. Members who join VISTA serve full-time for one year and receive a living allowance, healthcare benefits, childcare assistance, and student loan deferment during their service. AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) is a full-time 10-month program for 18 to 24-year-olds. The program is residential, with members living on one of five campuses and participating in team-based community service. Upon completion, members receive a $4,725 education award.
