The Chemawa Indian School Partnership Program brings Willamette University undergraduates to the Chemawa campus during the Evening Tutorial, Chemawa's defined study period, Monday through Thursday. Willamette students work together with Chemawa staff and Peer Tutors to meet student needs. Tutoring covers basic subject areas such as language arts, math, science, and social studies. There is often a great need for tutors who are skilled in advanced math (Geometry, Algebra II) and science (Biology, Physics). Participants also host Chemawa students on the Willamette campus for various events, including Indian Country Conversations presentations, MLK Celebrations, college visits, and sports games.
Students who participate in the program are expected to register for the associated American Ethnic studies course.
