Willamette University scholarships are awarded in recognition of academic achievement at the time of the student’s admission. All admitted applicants are automatically considered for these merit-based scholarships - additional application materials are not required. Scholarship amounts range from $5,000 - $25,000 per year.
Scholarships are available for a maximum of eight semesters, or until the student's graduation requirements are completed, whichever comes first. Funds will be renewed automatically each year, provided the student continues to make satisfactory academic progress toward completion of their degree (minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and completion of full-time enrollment each semester.) Scholarship amounts will not change from year to year -- they will be renewed for students at the same amount each year, regardless of changes in costs for tuition, fees, room, board, etc. See here for renewal requirements.
Willamette University Scholarships (and grants) are designated for use for tuition and fees only. A student’s Willamette University scholarship and grant total cannot, therefore, exceed their total cost of tuition and fees at Willamette.
Other merit-based scholarships are awarded in partnership with community organizations or in recognition of nationally competitive scholar designations. Applicants will be reviewed for eligibility in partnership programs including, but not limited to:
- Academic All-Stars
- All Oregon Academic Team
- Black United Fund Partnership Scholarships (BUFO)
