All study abroad applicants are welcome and encouraged to attend this workshop. Your study abroad application requires a Statement to support your dreams! The faculty committee scrutinizes application Statements closely.

Get the most out of this session!

  1. Start on our Application Tips page and also review the Statement Questionnaire in your application.
  2. Bring a rough draft with you to the workshop. Even a list of ideas or starting statements will make this a productive session for you!

Dr. Monique Bourque - our WU expert on writing for scholarships - will be on hand with OIE staff to help you put your best foot forward in your study abroad application.

Can't make this workshop? Make sure you are convincing your audience that you are a great candidate to represent WU abroad!

  1. The Writing Center is an excellent resource for helping you develop your Statement and polishing it for final submission.
  2. Ask a trusted professor or instructor to review and proofread your Statement to get valuable feedback. Many have studied abroad themselves and have insights that inspire you! Their own experience reading applications and writing recommendations can help you too.
