Whew! Just getting started? Be sure to take advantage of any opportunity you can to check in with OIE staff about the application process. See info about express advising and drop-in.We want to help you avoid the pitfalls made in applications. As we are fast approaching the deadline, it is all too easy to miss important steps and information that is critical to putting together a good application and get that application done by the deadline.

Past Interest Meetings

Monday October 16:   Japan Interest Meeting - JSP!   Thinking about Japan as your study abroad destination? Even if you are interested in a primarily English program, this one may work for you!

  • JSP accommodates all levels of Japanese language skills - including no Japanese. Different language instructions class levels meet all levels of language learning.
  • With the advantages of a homestay, cultural and language learning blossom!
  • Find out about the different paths that are available within this program designed for cultural learning (including language instruction) coupled with Japanese and English academic course opportunities.

Monday October 16: Ecuador Interest Meeting - Study in Quito! 

Looking for an intensive Spanish language learning experience abroad? Immerse yourself in cultural learning and language learning in Quito.

  • This site is offered as a summer '18 or fall '18 semester program.
  • Both terms include intensive language instruction at ACLAS and service learning experiences.
  • SUMMER!  Need to be on campus to meet critical credit needs - consider summer. Earn 2.0 WU Spanish language credits.
  • SEMESTER! For a longer experience, a visit to the Galápagos, and also take courses at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ).

Come to this meeting to find out about the advantages of each terms opportunities and how Ecuador might fit into your plans!

Tuesday October 24:  Granada, Spain Interest Meeting

Immerse yourself in a city with a fascinating history, a modern flair, and old world beauty!

  • Spanish language learning,
  • host family living, and
  • opportunities for internship or service learning.

Thursday October 26:  ISEP Interest Meeting + Student Panel  

Study abroad exchange sites by the dozens!  Offered through Willamette's program with ISEP.

  • Find out how to navigate the many options available.
  • What to expect when you embark on a direct enroll university experience!
  • Talk with international students who are at WU through ISEP and with WU students who studied abroad with ISEP!

Friday November 10:  English Track in Japan!

Are you still on the fence about the program you want to apply for?

  • No Japanese language required before you go or while you are there!
  • International Relations, Economics, and general education classes are available in English.
  • Students who have studied in The E-Track classes will be there to answer questions!

Monday November 13:  Summer Cambodia Interest Session

The Cambodia program will run in 2018!  Come and meet Professor Mark Stewart who will lead the summer program in Siem Reap, Cambodia.  Professor Stewart will answer questions about the program.  Bring a friend!

Thursday November 16: Summer Scotland Interest Session

The aim of the session will be to give you a brief overview of the field school and answer any questions you may have on life in Scotland, travel, food and Scotland’s balmy summer weather.  Open to all majors!  A few program alumni will join the session to give their impressions of the field school and to answer questions from a student’s perspective. See you there!

Thursday November 16: Summer Japan Interest Session

Come hear Professors Ron Loftus and Joe Bowersox describe the Environmental Studies and Sustainability program in Kawagoe, Japan.  Past student participants will be there to share their experiences and answer questions.  Open to all majors!  See you there!
