Port Elizabeth, South Africa is the home of Nelson Mandela University (NMU). Located on the Algoa Bay, Port Elizabeth is one of the largest cities in South Africa. Nelson Mandela University welcomes many international students from all over the world each year. Take a look at the brochure on NMU's Office of International Education site as an introduction to the university.
NMMU provides many academic options for WU students. A full list of departments is found on the NMU website.
Students live in university housing and take meals at dining halls. See the Accommodation section of NMU's Office of International Education website for more information.
The NMMU exchange program is available during either fall or spring semesters. There are four terms in each academic year at NMMU; students will participate in two terms to complete the equivalent of one semester at Willamette. The third term begins mid-July and the fourth term concludes at the end of November. The first term begins at the beginning of February and the second term ends in late June.
Please see the Willamette Sponsored Programs Cost Matrix for detailed explanation of the cost of each program. Information about that insurance and how to apply is found on NMU's Office of International Education's website.
Please note: the NMU website is often slow, please give it more time than usual to load.
