2023 Lū'au

This year we are excited to announce our 33rd Lū’au will be in person on Saturday, April 15, 2023, in Smith Auditorium. Kaleo Titcomb will be performing live at 4 p.m. (PDT) followed by a show starting at 4:30 p.m. (PDT). Admission to the performance is FREE this year, but seating is on a first-come first-served basis.

A Hawaiian Lū’au themed dinner will be served in the Bearcat Cafe (2nd floor of Putnam University Center) after the show, starting at 6:30 p.m. Buy your dinner tickets online before Saturday, April 15 at noon (PDT). *Dinner ticket sales are limited.

For over three decades, Willamette University’s Hawai’i Club has organized Lū’au for hundreds of people at Willamette University and its surrounding communities to attend. Despite efforts to keep this annual tradition alive, we had to cancel Lū’au 2020 and hold Lū’au 2021 virtually (watch on Youtube) due to the ongoing pandemic. Our lū’au allows us to share a bit of our home with everyone through traditional songs, dances and foods, while showcasing the hours of hard work dedicated by students, parents, faculty, and staff volunteers.

Join us as we celebrate lū’au and take you on a journey with Kānaka O Ka 'Āina, the "People of the Land".
