How to Set Up Webprint on Windows XP

This document will show you how to configure your Windows XP computer to use Willamette's Web-Printing system.

  1. Open your Printers and Faxes control panel.
  2. Choose Add a Printer.
  3. The Add Printer Wizard will appear. Click Next.
  4. On the Local or Network Printer screen, click the radio button next to "A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer." Then click Next.
  5. On the Specify a Printer screen, click the radio button nextto "Connect to this printer (or to browse for a printer…)"
    1. In the Name field type \\home\webprint
    2. Click Next.
  6. You will see a dialog box pop up called Connect to Printer. Click Yes.
    1. This will download the proper printer driver to your computer.
  7. After that is done you will see the screen called Default Printer.
    1. Click Yes if you plan to use webprint as your primary printer.
    2. Click No if you still prefer another printer as your primary printer.
  8. At the Completing the Add Printer Wizard screen, click Finish.
  9. Congratulations! Your computer should now be set to use webprinting.
