Recent Graduate Wins NCAA Scholarship

Ali Maki ’09 has received a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, which provides $7,500 to help pay for graduate school. This is Maki’s second national scholarship this year — she also won a prestigious Fulbright Grant to teach English at a bilingual high school in Madrid, Spain.

The NCAA scholarship goes to student-athletes in their final year of intercollegiate competition who excel both academically and athletically. Maki competed on the cross country and track and field teams at Willamette.

She majored in Spanish and art history, and after completing her Fulbright, she hopes to attend graduate school and study for a career in art and international education.
