John joined Willamette in 1979 and was the first director of the School of Education.

Some of this faculty member’s accomplishments include:
- Developed eCOVE Classroom Observation Toolkit Software
- Multiple national presentations and school district administrator training on Data-Based Observations and aligning data collection to district and national standards
