Program Overview

The Willamette University School of Education Center for Excellence in Teaching (CET) offers a complete Continuing Teaching License (CTL) program. The program includes 9 courses, at 1 quarter-hour credit each, which will contribute to both your knowledge of continuing license requirements and the fulfillment of the credits needed to apply for your CTL.

While now optional, completion of an Oregon CTL is considered to be an indication of the highest level of achievement possible for an Oregon teacher. It is significant because TSPC considers the accomplishment equivalent to attaining the National Boards for Professional Teaching Standards certification. Additionally, the CTL now receives full reciprocity with the Washington State Professional Certificate. The Initial will have a 3-year renewal for a total of 10 years (with one year of grace) before Initial II or CTL is required.
