Development: Parents Fund: Purpose

Opening Days at Willamette The Purpose of the Parents Fund
There are three funding sources for small, private, liberal arts universities such as Willamette: tuition and fees, endowment income, and gifts. While the comprehensive fee at Willamette is substantial, it covers only 65% of the actual cost of educating each student. Endowment income helps defray this cost, but with the income from the endowment set at a rate to preserve principal over time, additional support is still needed through gifts. Gifts made to the Parents Fund provide a dependable and needed source of financial support for the University.

Annual Parents Fund gifts directly enhance your student’s education and experience by providing critical funds to enhance the use and availability of campus technology and improve the quality of Hatfield Library resources.

Gifts to the Parents Fund enhance the outstanding programs and resources that Willamette provides for its undergraduates.
