Support WU
A-Z Index

My word for Willamette is...

  • Community--WU provided me with many opportunities to be involved in worthwhile and fulfilling community projects. For example, I enjoyed helping other students as a member of residence hall government. Student government also allowed me to participate in significant projects that helped people outside of Willamette.

  • Balancing--Regardless of the set of skills and lacks one owns when arriving at Willamette, the balance with which a graduate departs, and the tools to re-balance as needed in the face of accelerating change, are a unique gift of the WU experience.
  • —Steven Fullmer '78
  • Continuation--Great education, inspiring and continuing into later life. Continuing into marriage with a WU athlete (later to become a NY Yankee minor leaguer). Continuing with son's marriage to another WU student. Son to continue as a college prof and Dr. of Criminology--author and scholar. So the WU tradition continues!

The Leadership Circle

The Willamette Fund helps support the University's most basic functions -- teaching and learning -- by maintaining an excellent faculty and meeting the financial needs of deserving students.

Your ongoing support assists Willamette in building tomorrow's leaders.

We invite you to join with others who care about Willamette by giving to the Willamette Fund as a leadership donor. By giving every year, you help ensure that the University can effectively plan ahead and continue to "create" wonderful futures for our students.

You are invited to join the Leadership Circle.

President's Circle ($10,000 and above)

The President's Circle honors individuals who contribute $10,000 or more to the Willamette Fund during the fiscal year. Members of this society reflect the leadership exemplified by the University's president. Since Willamette's founding, the president has served as chief institutional fundraiser, visionary, and leader in building support and upholding the highest standard of academic excellence.

Jason Lee Society ($5,000-$9,999)

The Jason Lee Society recognizes individuals who contribute $5,000-$9,999 to Willamette during the fiscal year. The society is named for Jason Lee, the principal founder of the University. He left his entire estate to Willamette, and his gift continues to touch the lives of students attending his beloved school more than 165 years later.

Dean's Society ($2,500-$4,999)

The Dean's Society honors individuals who contribute $2,500-$4,999 to Willamette during the fiscal year. Like the role of the dean, members' support ensures the strength of the academic programs and the commitment to teaching excellence for which Willamette is known.

Waller Society ($1,000-$2,499)

The Waller Society honors individuals who contributes $1,000 to $2,499 to Willamette during the fiscal year. The society is named for Alvan F. Waller, who carried on the tradition of service and devotion begun by Jason Lee. It was Alvan Waller, as the University's agent, who bore the responsibility for developing the financial well-being of the University as it grew. He raised the funds and supervised the construction of what is now known as Waller Hall, which was completed in 1867.

1842 Society ($500-$999)

The 1842 Society recognizes individuals who contributed $500-$999 to Willamette during the fiscal year. The 1842 Society commemorates the year of the University's founding and represents the foundation on which the future of Willamette will be built.
