How to Add YouTube and Google Video videoclips to a Blog
Adding videoclips is easy. Both of the bigger videoclip hosting sites
– Google Video and YouTube – provide
computer-generated code that you can just copy and paste into your
blog.
Here's what you do:
-
Open up a clip on either of these sites.
-
The keyword you are looking for is "embed."
-
In YouTube, to the right of the video box, below the "About the
Video" information, you can see an "Embed" control. Right-click on the
garbled text (this is the HTML code) and select "Copy."
-
In Google Video, you need to click on the button "Embed" and select
the other option, "Embed HTML." Right click on the garbled text, and
select "Copy."
-
Paste the text you copied into your blog entry wherever you would
like it to appear. Since they take a little longer to load, if you are
using MovableType software that the LLC provides, it is recommended to
place the clip in the extended entry. This way you save some loading
time for people who are looking for something else.
There are a few other sites out there that provide similar embedded
video service and it is not possible to exhaustively list out the
instructions for them all. However, they will similarly provide pieces
of HTML code that you can copy and paste into your blog.
