Welcome, Independent Learners!

If you are an independent person eager to explore a new language, you have arrived to the right place. The Language Learning Center (LLC) is one of many resources that Willamette has to enrich the language learning experience.

The LLC is located in the basement of Smullin (room 18B) and is equipped with a 15 station computer lab, language software, satellite television and webcams for student and faculty use. We have software to learn languages that aren't offered at Willamette such as Italian, Portuguese, and Arabic as well as software to learn or support your knowledge in: Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese, Latin, Russian, and Greek.

There are many sections on the LLC webpage. The Willamette World News blogs are written bi-weekly by international students on campus. It helps give Willamette students a chance to know what is going on abroad from a person native to the country. At the same time, Willamette Abroad presents the experiences written by students that are in foreign countries. Students that are planning to travel abroad can read about the experiences of other Willamette students, and have a taste of what the country they are going to might be like from the perspective of an exchange student.

The LLC prides itself on the versatility of its staff, so any staff member working here would be able to assist you. However every member of the staff has a language specialization and if you wish, you can stop by when that person is here.
