Using
An Unsupported Email Client
WITS
supports the following clients for accessing Willamette
University email:
If
you choose to use an unsupported email client such
as Eudora or AOL, please be aware that WITS cannot
offer you any help is configuring or using your
mail client to access Willamette University email.
However,
we can tell you what server settings to use for
Willamette email. Please see below
for a list of these settings.
Using
An Internet Service Provider (ISP)
It
is still possible to access your Willamette email,
even if you live off campus and are using an ISP
such as AOL, AT&T, Earthlink, etc. Simply configure
your email client with the following settings:
Server
Settings
- Incoming
(IMAP or POP) server: mail.willamette.edu
(IMAP highly recommended)
- Outgoing
(SMTP) server -
- If
you're on campus, or dialing directly in to
Willamette (i.e., Willamette is acting as
your Internet Service Provider): smtp.willamette.edu
- If
you're off campus, and using an Internet Service
Provider such as AOL, AT&T, Earthlink,
etc., then you need to use the SMTP server
supplied by the Internet Service Provider.
- You
can also use Authenticated
SMTP from off campus, which allows you
to send mail through Willamette's mail system
when you are connected using another Internet
Service Provider.
