and Address Lists to the Address Book

Abstract: This
document covers three ways to add a single address to the address book in Pine.
- From within
the address book, type @ for AddNew.
- Fill in
the fields just like you would in the header of a new message:
Nickname: the name you will use when addressing the mail to this
address
Fullname: the full name associated with the nickname.
Fcc: the default folder for messages sent to this address (optional)
Comment: anything you like (optional)
Addresses: enter the e-mail address (or a list of addresses separated
by commas, if this entry is an address list)
- Press ^X
for eXit/Save to update the entry.
Using the Online
Fusser's Guide to Add an Address.
- From within
the address book, move the cursor to the Addresses line
- Type ^T
for To AddrBook
- Type ^F
for Fusser's Guide.
- You are
prompted for a last name. As you begin typing names will appear that start
with the letters you have typed. Once you see the name you want use the
arrow keys to highlight it, then press <Enter> or <return>.
- Complete the
other information as explained above.
- Press ^X
for eXit/Save to update the entry.
Adding Addresses
while Viewing Mail (Take Addresses)
It is possible to 'take' an address from a message your are reading and enter
it into the address book. When you receive a message in Pine, the message heading
includes the e-mail address of the sender.
- Select or open
a message.
- Type T
for TakeAddr.
- If there
are multiple addresses in the message, select the desired address, then
press <Enter> or <return>.
- You are
prompted for a nickname.
- < nickname
>, then press <Enter> or <return>
- Complete
the other information as explained above.
- Press ^X
for eXit/Save to update the entry.
