Finding E-mail Addresses

Pine 4.21

Document #116

Date: 03/03

Abstract: This document is a guide to finding e-mail addresses of people on the Internet. Familiarity with using Telnet to log into Pine and the Pine electronic mail program (Document #110) is assumed.

Introduction
If you know someone's e-mail address, e-mail can be a fast and efficient method of communication. Finding a Willamette e-mail address is fairly easy, but finding an address out on the Internet can be difficult. The easiest way is usually to call the pers on and ask! Because this is not always possible, some tools exist to find other people's e-mail addresses.
NOTE: Not all people who have access to e-mail read it, so you are not guaranteed that your message will actually be read by the recipient.
