Abstract: This document covers converting a word processor document to a Pine-readable document, which can then be sent as an e-mail message. This document is intended for PC users on the Willamette network. Macintosh users should refer to "File Transfer Using Fetch for Macintosh". Familiarity with Pine (Document #110) and your word processor is assumed.

Introduction: Many people find it easier to write a document in a word processing program like Microsoft Word or WordPerfect rather than in the Pine e-mail program. Unfortunately, there is no intuitive way of getting a word processor document into Pine in order to send the document as an e-mail message. This document describes how to get your document from a word processor into Pine.

Windows Shortcut: If you are using a Windows word processor (e.g., Word for Windows or WordPerfect for Windows), try this quick method: Start a Windows Telnet session and log in as you normally would.
