Willamette
Network Specs
Willamette
has switched 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet ports with a multiple
Gb/s Ethernet fiber backbone. The campus is connected
to the Internet through four T1 lines (1.5 Mb/s
each). A transparent firewall
blocks unauthorized connections from the Internet.
BlitzNet,
Willamette's wireless network, uses the IEEE 802.11b
wireless standard (commonly referred to as WiFi),
which provides connections of 11 Mb/s to the campus
network. Wireless access points are located throughout
campus, providing wireless coverage in most academic
buildings and public areas. (The residence halls
are not currently covered.)
Willamette's
Dial-up server has 48 lines with V.90 56K digital
service.
