Scholarships

Willamette University's fiscal stability and strategic partnerships enable the College of Law to offer strong financial aid options to students.

College of Law students march at commencement

Willamette Law awards scholarships to a significant portion of the incoming class in alignment with the detailed scholarship policies. Scholarship awards are renewable for second and third year law students provided the student remains in good standing as defined by the College’s requirements, which include academic regulations and the honor code as set forth in the student handbook.

Recipients are determined by the Admissions Committee, which evaluates several factors, including the candidate’s evidence of academic promise and potential contribution to the quality of the entering class. Scholarships are awarded without regard to nationality or citizenship.

Students who intend to enroll in the JD/MBA Joint Degree Program in law and business management should know that the College of Law and the Atkinson Graduate School of Management award scholarships separately. A scholarship provided by one school applies only while a student is studying at that school.

Scholarships awarded through our Direct Admission programs are durable and transparent.

Students are also encouraged to review the range of external scholarships available. Especially notable is the Coverdell Fellowship, a partnership between Willamette Law and the Peace Corps, provides graduate school scholarships to returned Peace Corps volunteers who complete a degree-related internship in an underserved American community while they pursue their studies.
