Robert Rocklin is returning to Willamette University College of Law for a second time as a professor; he taught appellate advocacy as an adjunct from 1998 to 2007. He was a staff attorney for the Oregon Court of Appeals from 2004 to 2010 and a senior assistant attorney general for the appellate division of the Oregon Department of Justice before that. He clerked for Oregon Supreme Court Justice Wallace P. Carson Jr. and was a student law clerk for Judge Terry J. Hatter of the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.
Professor Rocklin has written a textbook on persuasive writing for first-year law students called To Move a Court and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. Tax Court.
