About Learning Services

Learning Services are available to all students at Willamette University. The focus of the service is academic coaching to assist students in enhancing the Willamette educational experience. Some specialized one-on-one areas of assistance follow:

  • The syllabus as a tool to academic performance
  • An integrated approach of notetaking, highlighting and reading to enhance proficiency
  • Effective and efficient reading of college texts
  • Optimum management of time; time as an investment
  • Error analysis of exams and compensatory study strategies
  • A team approach to problem solving
  • Utilizing your learning styles to maximize your potential
  • Focus and motivation
  • Referral to other sources that may be helpful

Learning Services are located in Bishop Wellness Center as part of Disability Services. Appointments to meet with the Director may be made by calling 503-370-6471. Faculty, staff or self-referrals are welcomed. Please plan on meeting for an hour the first time. Bring the syllabus, notes and text from at least one class.
