Dr. Kleinert’s research interests include Atomic and Molecular Physics and Optics (AMO). Her current research focuses on ultracold gases of Rubidium and Strontium atoms. These atoms can be trapped with the help of laser light and magnetic fields in a magneto-optical trap (MOT). Rubidium and Strontium are especially interesting as several stable isotopes with various physical properties exist, which offers a wide variety of possible experiments. The group currently focuses on measurements of trap loss of either species due to collision between either trapped atoms or background gases.
