Biography
Jackie Barretta serves as Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO), where she leads team to provide computer applications, infrastructure and services necessary for the academic and administrative needs of the university community. She has led some of the largest teams and toughest projects as a Fortune 500 executive and higher education CIO. She has held the CIO position at Con-way Inc., College of Marin, and Portland Community College.
She is passionate about enhancing team innovation and performance. Her work with technology teams has won her widespread recognition with dozens of prestigious awards for innovation and achievement, including Premier 100 IT Leader from ComputerWorld, IT Innovator of the Year from Information Week, and IT Executive of the Year from the Society for Information Management. Barretta’s book, Primal Teams, has been published by the American Management Association, and her work on team agility and innovation has been published in CIO, Information Week and Fast Company.
Barretta has a BS in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an MA in Organizational Communication from Marylhurst University.
