About SSRD

Student Scholarship Recognition Day (SSRD) is held each spring to celebrate the exemplary scholarship and creativity of Willamette University students. It is a day for students to share the fruits of their research, to present musical, theatrical, and dance performances, and to display works of art to fellow students, faculty, family and friends.

Regular classes are not held on SSRD as a way of honoring the extraordinary accomplishments of our students and demonstrating Willamette University’s institutional commitment to student scholarship.

The students whose work is presented at SSRD have been supported in various ways. Some have worked directly with members of the faculty as research assistants or on student-faculty collaborative projects. Others have designed and conducted their own research, often during summer break or throughout their senior year for a senior thesis or capstone research project. Still others have created original works in fine and performing arts.

Presenter Information

Presenters are strongly encouraged to submit digital copies of their works to the SSRD digital collection in the Academic Commons.
