Bio

Cayla Skillin-Brauchle believes art has the capacity to allow us to envision and practice life meaningfully.  Her drawings, prints, zines, installations and performance art have been exhibited internationally at venues including Rotunda Gallery in Bangkok, Thailand; ROY G BIV Gallery in Columbus, Ohio; Artspace Mackay in Queensland, Australia; Sir JJ School of Art, Mumbai, India; the Whatcom Museum in Bellingham, Washington; the Sleeth Gallery in Buckhannon, West Virginia; and the Hallie Ford Museum of Art, Salem, Oregon.  In March 2018 her solo exhibition, STAT!, opened at the Plains Art Museum in Fargo, North Dakota, where she will also completed a residency with the Hannaher’s Print Studio in the Plains Art Museum Center for Creativity. Skillin-Brauchle has been awarded residencies at Iskra Print Collective, Vermont Studio Center, the Hambidge Center, Hypatia-in-the-Woods, and PLAYA Summer Lake. Most recently, she was the 2018 Artist in Residence at TEDxSalem where she also gave a TED talk to 800+ attendees on the power of art to change the viewer’s perspective. After earning a BA from Beloit College and her MFA from Ohio University, Skillin-Brauchle was 2012-13 Fulbright Fellow in India.
