Ivan Welty

Professor of Philosophy
Specialty: Analytic Philosophy

Ivan's recent work includes one paper on the epistemic authority that speakers are supposed to enjoy concerning their own mental states and another on Wittgenstein's analysis of color in Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus. With luck he'll soon finish a sequel to a recent paper on Augustine's conception of free will, and he hopes eventually to complete an illustrated guide to Wittgenstein's Tractatus. As always, Ivan will test his ideas in the classroom, where students quickly separate wheat from chaff.
