Pre-Law

Learn near the seat of state government and prepare for a career in the legal profession.

Want to address the immigration crisis? Work on health care policy? Give voice to the voiceless? Get into politics? A law degree may be right for you.

Willamette graduates make great law students and outstanding lawyers because they’re adept at communicating, analyzing, writing and problem-solving. Those are the skills you’ll develop across every major as an undergrad, and they’re precisely the skills that law schools desire.

Willamette’s proximity to the Oregon State Capitol and four courts will give you a chance to see lawmaking and the legal process in action. You also can take advantage of our 3+3 dual-degree program, which allows you to earn a bachelor’s degree at Willamette and a JD at our College of Law in six years instead of seven.
