Biography

Michelle Seaton

Michelle is a professional director, actor, and teacher who recently moved back to Portland, Oregon, after spending eight years in New York and New Jersey. During her time there, Michelle received her MFA in directing from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. In addition to completing her MFA, she founded the New York-based company Dark Luna Productions, where she directed numerous shows including off off Broadway productions of Us vs. Them and Passage. Michelle has worked in theatres including Ensemble Studio Theatre, St. Louis Repertory, The Eugene O’Neill Center, the American Globe, Stark Raving Theatre and Theatre Vertigo. She currently teaches acting at the University of Portland, Portland Actors Conservatory, Linfield College and George Fox University. Michelle is a graduate of Portland Actors Conservatory and holds a double BA in theatre and communications from Linfield College. Michelle is an associate member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and she recently won the Kennedy Center American College award for “Meritorious Achievement in Direction.” She also received a Drammy for “Best Acting Ensemble” for Electropuss, which she directed at Stark Raving Theatre.
