The Center encourages applications from members of the Willamette University faculty for Faculty Research Awards of up to $4,000 with a maximum of $1,500 to be used for honorarium. The goal of these awards is to provide our faculty significant financial support for new scholarly research leading to (1) a presentation on campus or at annual conference, and; (2) the writing, revision, and submission of a manuscript to an academic journal or publisher. Funds can be used to support research travel and research-related costs and/or a stipend though the stipend portion is limited to $1,500 as stated above. We particularly encourage proposals from individuals who are in the process of completing an unfinished project and who need additional time and funds to bring the project to completion and publication/presentation. Upon completion of the project, the faculty-member must submit receipts for funds expended and write a narrative description of the progress made toward achieving the objectives stated in the grant application.
