Dr. Catalina de Onís partnered with Dr. Melinda Butterworth on a project titled “Communicating Public Health Concerns about Vector-Borne Diseases and Viruses.” Karmen Chavez-Sam and three other undergraduate researchers made up the research team. This LARC project emphasized the interdisciplinary study of insect-borne diseases and viruses, particularly Lyme Disease in the Pacific Northwest.
