Every student comes to college with the intent of pursuing an education that will help shape a life of achievement, contribution, and meaning. Sometimes though, we find that we need some extra help and support in reaching our goals and helping us with our day-to-day existence. We need tools to help us navigate the obstacles that may be before us so that we can continue moving forward toward graduation and the world beyond college.
There are various tools already available at Willamette to help students succeed in various areas—the Academic Support Center, Career Development, the Writing Center, etc. Other tools available are some helpful resources that address some common questions college students have; a Student Support Advisor that helps those students who need particular guidance in their academic efforts; and a course that emphasizes and assists students with setting measurable goals and providing tools to help in reaching those goals.
