In the Pilates mat class we expand upon Joseph Pilates six principles of the Pilates method: centering/stabilization, control, concentration, efficiency of movement, breath, and precision. True change in the body comes through movement. Contrology, as Pilates was called at its beginnings, is complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit. Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit. Pilates is great for any sport, especially rotational sports like tennis and golf. Pilates will enhance your sport performance. Use of Pilates magic circles, balls, hand weights, and bands are incorporated into this workout.
