Jonathan Cole

Theatre Department Chair, Associate Professor of Theatre
Specialty: Theatre History, Directing, Acting, Stage Combat

Jonathan is a director, fight choreographer and performer. He is a Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD) Certified Teacher, holds Advanced Actor/Combatant status with distinction, and serves as one of three members of the SAFD Theatrical Firearms Safety Committee. He is a full member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (Director/Choreographer), and is the Resident Fight Choreographer at Artists Repertory Theatre (LORT D), where he is in his eighth season.

Jonathan also co-owns elemental movement, a stage combat, intimacy and movement direction collective. He holds a black belt in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu from the Salem Budokai under Bob Parksion and Al Elfstrom, and also holds rank in Aikido and Judo.
