The purpose of the website governance committee is to:
- Establish and maintain the strategic direction for digital initiatives and content
- Develop and recommend digital media policies to Technology Council.
- Provide a positive, understandable and comprehensive institutional image via the digital style guide
- Provide regular communication to the university community on matters relating to content, design, functionality, site structure, navigation, and search
- Create and oversee a suitable funding model for website infrastructure and services to be updated and maintained on a regular basis
- In partnership with the Technology Council, review and approve requests for acquiring web based platforms/software to be added or placed on Willamette’s websites
- Advocate for resources to maintain the website with updated content and functionality that aligns with Willamette’s strategic mission and purpose
- Allow for easy access to digital information
- Use international standards for accessibility
- Monitor and access effectiveness of website and current electronic infrastructure
- Ensure Willamette's digital properties align with legal standards
