The purpose of the website governance committee is to:

  1. Establish and maintain the strategic direction for digital initiatives and content
  2. Develop and recommend digital media policies to Technology Council.
  3. Provide a positive, understandable and comprehensive institutional image via the digital style guide
  4. Provide regular communication to the university community on matters relating to content, design, functionality, site structure, navigation, and search
  5. Create and oversee a suitable funding model for website infrastructure and services to be updated and maintained on a regular basis
  6. In partnership with the Technology Council, review and approve requests for acquiring web based platforms/software to be added or placed on Willamette’s websites
  7. Advocate for resources to maintain the website with updated content and functionality that aligns with Willamette’s strategic mission and purpose
  8. Allow for easy access to digital information
  9. Use international standards for accessibility
  10. Monitor and access effectiveness of website and current electronic infrastructure
  11. Ensure Willamette's digital properties align with legal standards
