The Digital and Website Governance Committee (DWGC) seeks to develop and maintain guidelines and policies for Willamette’s digital sites and initiatives in order to tell the authentic story of Willamette University.  It will explore new initiatives and strategies, receive and review suggestions for changes and improvements, and make recommendations to maintain continuity. The committee will ensure Willamette’s online presence (willamette.edu, wu-bearcats.com, WU social media platforms etc.) aligns with the mission, values and goals of the university.

Structure

The Chief Communications Officer will serve as chair. Members include the Chief Information Officer, Executive Director of Web Integration, Director of Digital Communications, Associate Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, Director of Marketing Communications for Atkinson Graduate School of Management, and Director of Communications for Willamette College of Law. The Director of Operations for Enrollment and University Communications provides administrative support to the committee. The committee meets quarterly or more frequently if needed at the request of the chair.

A Content Producers group shall be a permanent sub-committee of the Website Governance Committee with responsibility for creating and updating digital content on Willamette’s websites and social media platforms. The group will be chaired by Director of Digital Communications and meet monthly. They are responsible for aligning digital communications with the strategic mission and goals of the university. The Content Producers group is composed of a broad representation from all areas at Willamette. The Coordinator for University Communications provides administrative support for the sub-committee.
