Service at Willamette

The Office of Civic Engagement encourages a sense of civic responsibility by cultivating mutually beneficial relationships within the greater Salem community. We strive to address community-identified needs through collaborative partnerships and service; deepen learning, teaching, and scholarship through service; and foster the growth and development of active, engaged citizens.

Ongoing Events

Service Saturdays are for students who are willing to dedicate part of one day to volunteer in the Salem community. There are many opportunities provided by different organizations such as "Friends of Trees" and "HOME Youth & Resource Center."

Other opportunities include working with third and fourth graders at Bush Elementary through Tiger Club, connecting with seniors at the Center 50+: City of Salem Senior Center through Friendship Brigade, or engage with Howard Street Charter Students by volunteering with Language in Motion, the Office of Civic Engagement's cultural outreach program.
