Before coming to Willamette in 2011, Bev Ecklund worked at Chemeketa Community College as an academic reference librarian and as a librarian at the Woodburn Public Library. She also worked at the Salem Public Library for several years in various roles, including driving the Bookmobile and presenting children's storytimes in both Spanish and English. Ecklund was born and raised in Salem, Oregon. She received a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Western Oregon University and a master's degree in library science from Texas Woman's University.
At Willamette, Ecklund is the Career Planning and Development and externship program coordinator, assisting law students and graduates in finding legal employment both before and after graduation, as well as helping them grow professionally. She loves working with students and said connecting people to the information they need is fulfilling and what drives her. Ecklund is a member of the National Association for Law Placement and the Oregon Legal Recruiters Association. In 2015, she was selected as the Willamette Law Staff Member of the Year.
In her spare time, Ecklund enjoys camping and exploring national parks in the United States and Canada. She previously competed with the Cherry City Roller Derby and is now an aspiring powerlifter practicing crossfit.
