Willamette University Public Interest Law Project

WUPILP is a student run nonprofit organization with a mission to educate future lawyers about the opportunities, rewards, and need for involvement in public interest law. Public interest law covers a wide spectrum of traditional legal practice and covers non-profit and governmental work.

WUPILP strives to provide law students with opportunities to work in the public interest field through our Summer Fellowship Program. Each summer WUPILP funds fellowships through various fundraising events. Past fellows have worked with county public defenders office, legal aid, Catholic Charities, Mercy Corps, and numerous other organizations. WUPILP's biggest event is the Bid for Justice Auction, held for the past 26 years.

The 2020 Bid for Justice Auction will be held Thursday, February 27th in the Cat Cavern at the Putnam University Center (900 State Street SE, Salem, OR 97301). The festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m. and conclude at 9:00 pm. There will be a buffet style dinner, bar, silent auction and live auction.  The theme will be "Paris in the 20's"

There is NO COST to attend. All proceeds and donations will go to WUPILP student fellowships.

If you cannot attend the auction, but would like to make a monetary donation to WUPILP, please use the "Make a Donation Today!" link, choose "other" from the drop down box and type in WUPILP.  You can also send a money order or check made payable to WUPILP to:
