Biography
After completing her D.Sc. in Biostatics at Harvard University, Paula taught statistics at The University of Washington and Oregon State University. In 1982, she joined Hewlett-Packard where she worked for 25 years. While at HP, she worked in several organizations including manufacturing, quality systems and R&D and served in multiple positions from statistician and reliability engineer to various levels of management including Director of R&D. Her experience has included responsibility for leading teams in the development and launch of multiple products in HP’s Imaging and Printing Group.
Paula's main teaching interest is developing a holistic process and objective tools to guide organizations through this process. She has experience working with growing, stable and mature businesses that want to initiate change as well as in the launch of new businesses. As a consequence of this experience, she has developed understanding of and enthusiasm for working with organizations poised to undertake innovative change as part of their future growth.
Since leaving HP, Paula has been a volunteer for SCORE© where she is an accredited counselor advising businesses (start-up and existing) on business planning. Paula has also served on a number of non-profit boards in Salem, Oregon. She has been on the board of the Salem Art Association since 2009, currently serves as Past-President of the Board and is transitioning onto the Board of Salem Art Association Endowment Fund.
